Spring, Glorious Spring
26.03.2001

Dear friends,

For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, spring is here to pull us out of the doldrums of winter. Many leagues have either started a new season or restarted the second half of the season, in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. Football fans, rejoice!

The World Football Foundation has been moving along steadily since my last letter to you in January. We are still working hard on our forthcoming statistics section, and we are very excited about the progress being made there. Soon, you will be able to find information on players, matches, and competitions from around the world! In addition to that anticipation, we are still working hard to include more and more clubs and countries in our database, as well as refining what information we currently have.

We have similarly opened our www.worldfootballclubs.org site, which will host the official sites of clubs from around the world. Our first hosted club, American amateur club Croatian Eagles, can be found at http://www.worldfootballclubs.org/croatianeagles. A site is forthcoming for Nicaraguan top-flight club Real Estelí. Furthermore, we are working on the www.pyramidesportcenter.org website for the Pyramide Sport Center, a youth training center in Cameroon led by Gilbert Kamgan, mentioned in the last news mailing. Sad developments in Nepali football will turn to bright moments for Nepali youth, as the Nepal Football Fan Club (www.bhakundo.com.np) begins its youth training program in Kathmandu next month. Due to the futile national football association situation, the NFFC is turning its efforts toward the development of what hopefully will be the first of several positive and uplifting youth training programs organized jointly with local associations and football clubs.

We are looking for national sponsors, who will be advertised in our database and in country-related correspondences. If your company would be interested in the international exposure our organization can offer, please email me at m.d.raney@worldfootball.org.

Do you want to be a part of the World Football Foundation team? We are always looking for people willing to volunteer some time. If you can contribute information about your country or area, whether the leagues and clubs are professional, semi-professional or amateur, we're ready to welcome you! Whether you know about clubs, stadia, football grounds, players, or geography, there is a place for you. Please contact me at the above email address.

We are looking forward to a growth period and hope that you will continue to support our organization through this time. Thank you for continuing to visit our sites, and please do not hesitate to email me about any matter!

With best regards,
Michael RANEY, Director of Public Relations
