Dear friends in football,

While the 2001 season is ending in many countries, the 2001/2002 season has just begun in many others. That's one thing you can rely on with our sport; at any date on the calendar, football is being played! The World Football Foundation sends its best wishes to all members of the football community and its hope for safe and fair play at all football grounds.

I am pleased to inform you all that 16 October 2001 is the one-year anniversary of the World Football Database, our website located at www.worldfootball.org. During the past 12 months, we have delivered almost 3 million page views to users from all parts of the globe with information on over 6000 clubs from 59 different countries. We have overcome challenges posed to us by anti-supporter forces; we have not backed down and indeed we will not back down in promoting football. We will continue to serve the sport for many years to come.

We hope to unveil during the course of the 2001/2002 season two major revisions. The first is an online system by which a club can build its own website under our World Football Clubs webhosting initiative without using any HTML programming code. Currently, the WFF hosts two clubs under the World Football Clubs programme: Nicaraguan championship leaders Real Estelí FC (www.worldfootballclubs.org/realesteli) and American amateur outfit Croatian Eagles SC (www.worldfootballclubs.org/croatianeagles), the oldest Croatian football club outside of Croatia itself. The second revision will add a statistics database to the current contact & stadium database. This statistics segment will hold information concerning players, matches, leagues and other such data, becoming a very thorough website.

In consideration of the upcoming statistics section, we are already collecting data. If you would like to help us with your country, your league, or even just your club, we would be delighted to have your help. You only need to email me to join the team.

We hope you have visited our website recently. If not, come back and see what we have to offer!

With best regards,
Michael Raney, Director of Public Relations
